Machel Allen, CFA

President & Chief Investment Officer

Machel is the President and Chief Investment Officer at Metis Global Partners. She leads the firm’s business strategy efforts as well as the investment team responsible for researching and managing the firm’s portfolio strategies.

Machel’s investment career spans over 29 years, including ten years with Brandes Investment Partners where she led the quantitative investment team that designed and implemented the investment process used by Metis today. Prior experience includes Lord Abbett, as an Equity Analyst to international and domestic portfolios, as well as institutional investment consulting roles at LCG Associates and Watson Wyatt.

Machel earned an MBA in investments from the Robinson Business School at Georgia State University (GSU) as well as a BBA in finance from GSU. She is a Past President and Board Director of the CFA Society of San Diego and is a member of the Chicago Quantitative Alliance (CQA). Machel is an Advisory Board Member of The Brandes Institute.

Irina Gorokhov, CFA

Member | Senior Research Analyst

Irina is a Member and Senior Research Analyst at Metis Global Partners. She is part of the investment team that researches, develops, and implements quantitative models for the firm’s portfolio strategies.

Irina has 25 years of experience in banking and investments, including a variety of roles in quantitative research, performance, operations, and accounting. Most recently, at Brandes Investment Partners, she was part of the research team that developed and executed the firm’s quantitative offerings.  She was also a researcher at The Brandes Institute, a division of Brandes Investment Partners, focusing on research of market behavior and portfolio management.

Irina earned her master’s degree in electrical engineering from Odessa State Polytechnic University (Ukraine) and completed two years of graduate studies in finance and banking in France. She is fluent in Russian and French and has a working knowledge of Dutch. She is a member of the CFA Society of San Diego and serves as a research consultant to The Brandes Institute.

Maxime Zondlowski

Senior Research Analyst

Maxime is a Senior Research Analyst at Metis Global Partners. He is part of the investment team that researches, develops, and implements quantitative models for the firm’s portfolio strategies.

Maxime has 19 years in investments and quantitative analytics spanning various roles in quantitative research, data analysis, and consulting. Most recently, at Nicholas Investment Partners, he focused on the development of the firm’s proprietary quantitative equity model as well as the firm’s risk management process utilized across all equity and convertibles strategies. Prior experience includes, QSG (a sell-side consulting company serving investment firms; now IHS Markit) where his responsibilities included evaluating and enhancing global and US multi-factor alpha models and conducting research on industry-specific models.

Maxime earned a B.S. and M.S. in Physics from the Université des Sciences et Technologies in Lille, France and a European Union Fellowship award for doctoral studies at the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN) in Genoa, Italy.  He is fluent in French and Italian.  He is a member of the Chicago Quantitative Alliance and serves as a research consultant to The Brandes Institute.

Tom Mulligan, CFA

COO, CCO

Tom is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at Metis Global Partners. He is responsible for managing the operational and financial aspects of the business, as well as compliance, personnel, and business systems. He also supports the firm’s distribution activities.

Tom has 24 years of experience in the investment management industry. Most recently he directed multiple business units at Brandes Investment Partners. Prior to that he held senior leadership positions with Allianz Global Investors (U.S.), Raymond James Asset Management Services and Eagle Asset Management, with responsibilities across numerous areas of those firms including institutional client service, marketing, product management and RFP.

Tom earned an MBA from the University of Florida (UF) with concentrations in security analysis and finance, as well as a BSBA in finance from UF. He is a former Vice President and Board Director of PAICR, and is a member of the CFA Society of San Diego.

Jeri Andrews

Managing Director, Institutional Client Development

Jeri is the Managing Director of Institutional Client Development at Metis Global Partners. She is responsible for building partnerships with clients and consultants, executing on Metis’ business development plans and helping develop the firm’s overall growth strategy. Jeri collaborates with asset owners, their consultants, and the Metis investment team to provide investment strategies that align with client targeted outcomes. Jeri has 20 years of executive leadership experience in the investment management industry across sales, client service, marketing, HR and strategy. Most recently, Jeri spent three years as Managing Director and Executive Committee Member at GQG Partners where she led the marketing, client service and HR teams. Before joining GQG, she was Head of Institutional Sales for Intellectual Ventures, a private equity firm where she worked with GP’s and LP’s including venture capitalists, sovereign wealth funds, endowments and foundations and private investors. Jeri spent the previous decade at Russell Investments, where she held a variety of sales leadership roles working with plan sponsors and consultants.  She spent two years in London, leading Russell’s expansion efforts in advance of its sale to the London Stock Exchange. Jeri is a proud graduate of Boston University.
