How We Invest
We are bias-averse, value investors. We believe investors that are both patient and rational have the potential to generate superior returns over the long term. Even the most adept investors can succumb to emotion and turn impulsive, particularly at times of maximum consequence. At Metis, we seek to exploit such behavioral biases, not succumb to them. Our approach combines the insight of fundamental analysis with the bias-averse consistency of a systematic process.
Metis Beliefs
- We believe in long-term, fundamental value investing
- We believe in systematic investment process implementation – to protect investors from our behavioral biases and to capitalize on the behavioral biases of others
- We believe that no one industry valuation metric fits all companies globally
- We believe in investing based on a comprehensive global view, looking at investments in the context of the broadest possible opportunity sets
- We believe that efforts to control tracking error contribute to the erosion of investment returns
